- Washed exterior at self wash bay. Accidentally dragged the hose boom over the cab and bumped the wiring stub from the lightbar, which unknown to me at the time, broke the weather seal.
- As is my luck most times I get a car wash, it rained most of the rest of the day. Started to get drips from left-side cab speaker in the headliner. At one point, I braked going down hill and water ran out the front edge of the headliner.
- Temporary fix was to put shop towels on the dash, my lap and stuffed in the front edge of the headliner. At a later stop I patched up the weather seal and fixed the leak.
- Air ride seat was slowly losing air. Every 10 minutes or so I would have to air it back up.
When I was first planning this trip, I had purchased a set of replacement wiper blades, given I assume the existing set were no doubt rotted by the sun. Unfortunately, I had left those in Michigan since I couldn’t fly with them. When I arrived in Pembroke Pines to finally drive north, I purchased another set of blades, but then returned them at the last minute, figuring what were the chances that I would need them before getting back to Michigan. Of course, on my third day, it proceeded to rain the entire day and the wipers were doing little more than sloshing water back and forth. The one in front of the drive had peeled away and had a good 10″ tail that would trail the wiper back and forth. I found this absolutely hilarious and cracked up laughing out loud at various points throughout the day.
