  • Temp was 32 at 7:30 AM. Truck started and seemed to be charging the air system, but when I came back a few minutes later from checking out of the hotel, the PSI would not go over 30. Ran engine up to 1700 RPM. After a few minutes, air pressure started to build very slowly. Air ride seat, would drop rapidly after airing up so I left it in the deflated position. Air eventually reached 60 PSI and I was able to release the parking brake. Once on the road, PSI built > 100 and I could hear air governor releasing.
  • Outside of Jackson, MI it started losing air pressure down to nearly 60 psi. During this time I could hear something running either from under the truck or the engine compartment. Sounded like the fan kicking into higher speed, but with all the wind, road and engine noise I couldn’t tell for sure. Pulled onto shoulder and slowed down but did not stop. After 30 seconds, sound stopped and PSI started to build back up to > 100.
  • 20 minutes later I observed a decent stream of blue smoke out exhaust pipe for <1 minute.
  • Temp was 30-34 the entire day. No cab heat. Wearing shorts a thin jacket and work gloves. Way to plan ahead.
  • Update: Stopped in Mason at Jay’s to show him the truck and get some coffee to warm up. He was suitably impressed with it. Jen and Kirra: not so much.
